By K. Hengy - Ops Populi: Inception is a timely and compelling book that drew me in from the start. Mike Lieber skillfully details the corruption and gridlock within our political system while ultimately giving us a story of hope. This is an amazing first novel and a confident call to action. Read this book, tell a friend, and let the dialogue begin!

Freedom From The Press
Populism is a political discourse that juxtaposes “the people” with “the elites.” Populism may comprise an ideology urging social and political system changes and/or a rhetorical style deployed by members of political or social movements. It is defined by the Cambridge dictionary as “political ideas and activities that are intended to represent ordinary people’s needs and wishes”
In August, 2008 this site published a poll that is still active and collecting data. One of the questions reads:
Politically, What are You? Unlike a normal poll that attempts to classify the American public into one of two groups. This poll, which I believe to be more accurate breaks the public into four groups. Here are the results thus far.
Fiscal Conservative and Social Liberal: 36%
Fiscal and Social Conservative: 36% (RNC)
Fiscal and Social Liberal: 24% (DNC)
Fiscal Liberal and Social Conservative: 4%
Three of the four are obtaining the bulk of the votes. What does this data suggest? Let’s conclude that the RNC represents Fiscal and Social Conservatives and the DNC represents Fiscal and Social Liberals. That said, who’s representing the remaining 40%?
If we listen to and believe the mainstream press, the non-represented 40% are classified as Moderates or Independents. These are the voters who both the RNC and DNC attempt to lure into their respective camps. I would classify this 40% group as Independent bordering on Populist.
Dating back to 1994, RNC and DNC operatives, aka bloviators, have used various schemes to win the populist vote. Some in the conservative media have even announced on-air that the “Contract for America” was a political ploy to win the populist vote. As we all now know, the populists took the bait and Republicans won in a landslide. In 2008, the reverse happened. Then Senator Barack Obama’s spin machine came up with the clever slogan, “Change We Can Believe In.” As in 1994, the populists swung back resulting in Democrat control of our federal government.
Is Sarah Palin another one of the many populist ploys at work for the RNC elites? And what about Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity or John Stossel? To hear them talk you could easily be led to believe that they’re Independent populists, that is until you hear them during the heat of an election campaign. Okay, I can hear it already, “I don’t throw my support exclusively towards republicans or democrats.” This could be true but, my argument is both the RNC and DNC are controlled by the same elites so your argument doesn’t hold water. A true populist doesn’t exclusively pander to any specific corporate interest. A true populist will despise any corporate interests proven to be self-serving at the expense of American democracy.
Adjusting The Lens to Wide Angle
The Independent voter in America is getting screwed from both political sides. Neither the RNC or DNC are genuinely in business to promote the interests of populism. That said, without the populist vote neither the RNC or DNC can obtain any form of mandate. I equate this political dilemma to a game of ping pong where the RNC and DNC stand at opposing ends of the table and the Independent voters are the ball being bounced back and forth.
Those of you reading this who also consider yourselves as Independent populists cannot feel very satisfied with either the RNC or DNC. Nor should you be very pleased with how the mainstream press is treating you. You’ve become a second-class citizen even though as a collective block of American voters you wield great power.
As the editor of this website, I’m tired of being someones ping pong ball. America is severely broken as it continues down a road under full control and direction of the elite. The mainstream news media, RNC and DNC are our enemy. The sooner you realize this the sooner we can organize to reform our constitution and reestablish our rule of law.
Cops and Robbers
Remember playing this game as a child? You’d either be the cop or the robber with a small group of friends. Now, take a real close look at your members of Congress. Are you finding cops or robbers? Yes, we’d all like to think that every member of Congress is a cop since their job is to debate and pass legislation. How did your members of Congress vote on the bailout of crooked banks? If they voted in favor of the bailouts does that make them a cop or a robber? I could continue but I think you see my point and to carry it one step further, why would either the RNC or DNC condone any act where their sitting elected officials allowed themselves to become so co-opted that they passed legislation that robbed the American people blind, most of whom haven’t even been born? C’mon America, we’re supporting political institutions that have violated our trust and rule of law.
When Does “The Spin” Truly Stop
Since this article published earlier today, this question has appeared in my inbox, “contact us” button above.
The spin stops when Independent populists are provided with a seat at the table. Meaning? If a political television show or editorial page in print or on the Internet invites political commentary from the DNC (blue) and RNC (red), it should also invite an educated Independent populist (purple). In addition, all political debates should include Independent populist candidates. Anything less is a disservice to at least 1/3 of Americas voting public. As a side note, several current news anchors have admitted that this block of voters is growing at the expense of both the RNC and DNC.
