Written by: Wendy Dauberman

In 2003, after 10 years of continuous custody battle using the Courts to chastise Crist Dauberman, Jr. (“JR”), he went to Social Services and reported his X-wife’s mental abuse of his children. Social Services contacted the X-wife; her response was to go to Spotsylvania County Police and state that she had not seen Crist Dauberman Sr. (“SR”), since 1993. She failed to tell them that she had been separated from Jr., since that time and had no way of knowing where Sr. was living. Spotsylvania County initiated an investigation. Spotsylvania Investigator Acors contacted Claude Dauberman (SR’s brother), who said he had not “seen his brother since 1994 … not heard from him since 1995.” A missing person’s report was issued based on Claude’s statements. (Claude later testified in Court that the reason he did not report his brother missing before 2003 was because “he had no reason to think anything was wrong.”)

(In 1993, Wendy Dauberman left her husband and went to Texas (she had been SR’s Representative Payee for Social Security (“SSA”) – SR had been declared “incompetent to handle his finances” by SSA; VA pension was direct deposited into SR’s bank account; after Wendy left, SR took JR to SSA Office in Fredericksburg, VA and requested that JR be named as his “Representative Payee.”) Wendy and SR later reconciled and Wendy returned to VA with SR.

In 2004, Office of the Inspector General Agents Paul Powis and James O’Neill became involved with the investigation because SR was 100% disabled for P.T.S.D. and was receiving VA benefits and Social Security. Spotsylvania County Investigator Robert Acors questioned Wendy Dauberman and a search was done of the Dauberman residence, including ground penetrating holes drilled in finished basement floor and use of cadaver dogs. Nothing was found. Shortly thereafter, Wendy came home from work in Washington, DC, to find her house lit up like a Christmas tree and the front yard full of Government vehicles; numerous persons were inside her house conducting another “search” and people were carrying boxes and bags of items out of the house. Wendy filed a complaint about Paul Powis to Office of Inspector General and notified various other agencies regarding Powis’ harassment.

In 2006, Crist Dauberman, Jr., Wendy Dauberman, Heather Dauberman and Craig Dauberman received subpoenas to appear in Richmond VA before the Grand Jury WITH an attorney. Wendy Dauberman retained Eric Yaffe, Gray Plant Mooty, to respond to subpoanas. Throughout 2006, Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) Sara (Flannery) Chase response to Yaffe was delayed and sporadic (Yaffe later issued a statement that her lack of candor and response was very unprofessional).

Agents threatened to stop SR’s VA benefits. (Wendy Dauberman informed her husband that the Agents were threatening to STOP his benefits; he said he was “classified as 100% permanently disabled” and that they could not stop his benefits.) VA benefits were stopped in January 2004. When Agents were told what SR had said, Powis said “Social Security benefits are also going to be stopped.” Agents continued contacting persons and informing them they were “looking into the ‘disappearance’ of Sr.’” They informed person(s) that “no one has seen SR since 1993,” even though they had information from Sr’s former “Service Representative” Rod Brady that in 2002, he had been contacted by SR in Arizona and received a postcard from him. (Agent O’Neill wrote up Investigative Reports about his conversations with Brady and that Brady had returned his phone call(s) regarding the post card. Powis later stated
that “Brady never returned O’Neill’s phone calls” (this was untrue).)

In February 2007, Powis and O’Neill appeared before the Grand Jury in Richmond seeking an “indictment.” The indictment was issued on Agent Powis’ testimony that SR “had not been seen since 1993.” Powis testified that “the only funds going into SR’s bank account were from VA and Social Security.” (This was another false statement, which Powis knew was untrue; Yaffe had provided information to the Agents that Wendy’s paycheck was ‘direct deposited’ into SR’s account.) O’Neill testified that his investigation had unturned a visit to the VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA, on July 26, 1998, wherein SR “checked in at 12:00 … and checked out at 12:26.”

The trial was set for May 7–9, 2007. Because everything was in both Wendy and Crist Dauberman, Sr’s name, Wendy Dauberman could not afford a trial attorney; Christopher Booberg was Court appointed to represent Wendy Dauberman; Public Defender Paul Gill was assigned as Lead Attorney for the combined trial, and to represent Crist Dauberman, JR; William Sooy was appointed to represent Craig Dauberman (who was acquitted of all charges).

The defense was presented with a 6 inch binder of exculpatory documents, including direct deposit payroll information showing Wendy’s payroll information into SR’s account, and contacts of family members who had chosen not to have any contact with the Dauberman family for 20-30 years. This notebook was ignored by the defense attorneys. It was again brought up that SR had specifically stated that “the only person who can ‘charge’ you with misuse of MY money, is ME.” Defense attorneys stated that Chase said she was NOT pursuing the ‘disappearance’ claim; that the trial was based on “fraud” (stealing Government funds). Defense strategy was that Wendy Dauberman would take the stand to rebuke the charges and answer to the Government’s claims. (This never happened. At the close of the trial proceedings during the 2nd day, May 8, 2007, Booberg stated “Wendy will not be taking the stand.” Booberg refused to call and/or allow Wendy to take the stand during the trial.)

On May 4, 2007, Agents Powis and O’Neill approached Defense Witnesses Kathy Kern and Frank Kern, (who had notified the authorities AFTER they learned that this case was going to trial and specifically told them that they had seen SR at his home in 1998 and 2004) and threatened them and bribed them not to appear in Court on the 7th.

May 2007, Case 3:07CR040 was heard before Judge Henry Hudson in U.S. District Court for Eastern District of VA, Richmond Division. The indictment “charged” the defendants with “conspiracy,” “fraud,” and “theft of Government funds.” AUSA Chase tried them based on a capital offense inference that SR had “disappeared in 1993,” even though the only person stating she had not seen him since 1993 was the X-wife.

The trial started on May 7, 2007. Jury panel was assembled. Hilliard Love, Jr., was a disabled veteran who was dismissed because he received disability benefits; he was placed back on the jury panel. Although the Judge ordered ALL witnesses to be removed from the Courtroom, Agent Powis remained in the Courtroom sitting next to AUSA Chase, at the Prosecution table. The government called witnesses from the VA and Social Security, including fingerprint and handwriting experts. The jury was misled throughout the trial and AUSA Chase continuously misrepresented SR as being in “custodial care” (he wasn’t) and that the ONLY funds going into SR’s account were from VA and SSA; Agent Powis took stand and not only stated same fact regarding SR’s deposits, but emphatically “denied” going to Kern’s and/or threatening them; he said “No, I did not. It wasn’t me.” Later, Kathy and Frank Kern took the stand and identified Paul Powis sitting next to AUSA Chase and O’Neill sitting in back of the Courtroom. (Powis’ perjury has been REMOVED from the trial transcript.)

Judge Hudson allowed JR’s x-wife to testify to 13 year old “hearsay” in which she changed her original statements given to the Investigators 3-4 years earlier and the date(s) she had last seen SR. Judge Hudson “personally” instructed the jurors and made numerous prejudicial comments throughout the trial. Based on Hudson’s prejudicial comments to the jurors, the Defendants who were never allowed to present a defense and/or testify on their own behalf, were convicted. AUSA Chase submitted a Motion recommending 90-121 months, instead of the recommended sentence guideline of 27-33 months. Judge Hudson sentenced them above sentence guidelines based on “Obstruction of Justice” which was never formally charged and, therefore, never confronted during the trial. Wendy Dauberman was sentenced to 48 months and 3 years probation; Crist Dauberman JR was sentenced to 40 months and 3 years probation.

Lauren Dauberman, JR’s 14 year old daughter, had taken the stand during the trial, even though she told numerous person(s) that she had lied and did not want to take the stand. Immediately after she was sworn in, she completely broke down on the stand; AUSA Chase continued to badger her with questions; finally, Judge Hudson interrupted Chase and “excused” Lauren and told her she was “free to leave.” (No one else questioned Lauren while she was on the stand.) (Ironically, the Trial Transcript has omitted her breakdown and Judge Hudson’s interruption, etc.; it even states that she was cross-examined by PAUL GILL. It includes several pages of Hudson covering “child witness protection laws” … This NEVER happened.)

Court appointed Attorney Christopher Booberg and Public Defender Paul Gill were fired for ineffective counsel; new attorneys, Solomon and Adrienne Wisenberg, Wisenberg and Wisenberg, and Gray Broughton were hired to represent JR at Sentence Hearing; Emily Williams, Pro Bono, Covington & Burling, was reviewing case for Wendy Dauberman. Trial transcript was ordered in May 2007, shortly after conviction. Trial transcript was not ready until 82 days AFTER the trial. (At Paul Gill’s request, he was allowed to enter a “Motion of Acquittal” for Crist Dauberman JR on July 9, 2007, even he stated “it would most likely be ‘DENIED’.”)

Defendant Wendy Dauberman received a copy of the Trial Transcript in November 2007. Upon review, she noted changed testimony (omissions and statements never testified to during trial) and Exhibit JR-2 was listed as a “video tape of a search” (it was later determined that this was a Government Exhibit of the Government’s search done in 2005). The ONLY videotape entered during the entire trial was during Claude Dauberman’s testimony, when Paul Gill questioned him about a “fight” he had with his brother at a family reunion in 1994; the video was clearly marked “1994″ and showed Claude sitting in a recliner apologizing to the family for the fight he had with SR at the family reunion; Gill entered this as Defense Exhibit JR-2.

On November 28, 2007, Wendy informed her Sentence Hearing Attorney, Claire Cardwell, that the trial transcript had numerous errors, including Defense JR-2 Exhibit had been switched. She confronted Paul Gill; he stated “JR-2 was a ‘search video’. (Defendants had no way of proving the “switch” while they were incarcerated. It was not until 2011, after their sentences had been served that they received the documents they needed from Wisenberg and Broughton, which proved that the TRIAL TRANSCRIPT had been changed, including Exhibit(s). On August 10 and 15, 2007, Pam Bishop, Paralegal, “… as directed by Paul Gill …” forwarded exhibits and documents to newly retained Wisenberg and Broughton. Defense Exhibit JR-2 was CLEARLY marked: “1991 Tax Return.” This completely was in opposition to what had been entered during trial, but ALSO conflicted with the Trial Transcript!

The Defendants constantly claimed their innocence and filed motions with the Court throughout their sentence. Scott Pickus was assigned to represent Wendy for her Appeal in January 2008. Wendy prepared charts of transcript discrepancies; she notified attorney(s) that trial transcript was not an accurate verbatim account of the trial and that Exhibit JR-2 had been switched. In February, Pickus sent a letter to Wendy stating after he reviewed documents, he would be in touch. He did not contact her again until AFTER Joint Appendix, based on faulty trial transcript, had been filed and AFTER she had filed a Complaint with the VA Bar Association because all attempts to reach him, including contact requesting Appeal Status with 4th Circuit, had been ignored. Appeal was denied.

Wendy Dauberman filed 2255 Motion to Vacate Sentence pending Appeal because Pickus failed to respond to ALL correspondence; 2255 Motion was assigned to Magistrate Judge Hannah Laucke, who issued Order stating “refile after Appeal” (2255 Motion was NOT adjudicated); Wendy filed 2255 Motion AFTER Appeal was denied; Judge Hudson not only tried to state Wendy had filed a “successive” Motion, but he retrieved the new 2255 Motion, even though Laucke had ordered the Gov’t to “respond within 60 days. Hudson has made continuous efforts to ensure that this case remains in District Court. His latest response has been to deny a “Certificate of Appealability” (COA) relating to the Motion 2255. AUSA Chase continues to submit false statements to the Court “… even if she did make deposits into SR’s account, … minimal …” (NOTE: As confirmed in Government Documents, Wendy Dauberman’s employment payroll amounted to MORE than $500,000.00 during the time frame 1993 through 2005. The Government fraud funds amounted to much less.) Booberg continues to submit Affidavits with false statements to the Court “… reviewed the PSI Report and found no notable discrepancies” (among other major misstatements, the PSI Report stated Wendy’s eyes were “BLACK” … they are in fact “blue”) and Cardwell submitted “addendum to the PSI Report” because Booberg “missed the deadline” (which proves Booberg’s Affidavit to the Court was inconsistent with the ‘truth’).

Defendants still state their innocence. The Court still is refusing to acknowledge that this case could NOT be brought to trial legally. There was no basis for indictment OR conviction.

We were threatened NOT to go to the media with “10 years in prison and $250,000 fine.” Yet, the Government smeared the indictment all over the local and Richmond paper. This truly is a case of double standards and gross violation of Constitutional Rights.

Case 3:07CR040, US District Ct-Eastern Dist. VA-Richmond (2007): There are documents to PROVE innocence, but Defendants were never given an opportunity to dispute misrepresented evidence. A representative payee is in charge of either current needs or “investing” in “future needs” … what better investment than Veteran’s HOME where he keeps his most treasured items and where he has always returned … UNTIL the Government stripped him of EVERYTHING. Where is the Justice in this case?

Occupying A Cause
Essay by Bill Moyers | billmoyers.com

BILL MOYERS: By coincidence I first met with Jacob Hacker and Paul Pierson on the very day Occupy Wall Street had sprung up in lower Manhattan. And I wondered, as so many others did, were we seeing the advance guard of a movement by organized people to challenge the power of organized money? Well, it’s still too soon to know. But in the weeks that followed, every time we went down to the encampment, there was no mistaking the message.

LINNEA PALMER PATON: I don’t have thousands of dollars to go buy myself a lobbyist to lobby for my views, but corporations do.

BILL MOYERS: Linnea Palmer Paton is 23 and an Occupy Wall Street Volunteer.

LINNEA PALMER PATON: This is supposed to be a government for the people, run by the people and if our voices don’t matter because we’re not wealthy, that’s really unacceptable and it’s dangerous.

HERO VINCENT: My name is Hero Vincent, I’m 21 years old. I’ve been here since day one. My parents were foreclosed on, my father’s been unemployed a couple of years. My mother was the only one taking care of the family for a while. I’ve been working since I’ve been 14 years old, you know, trying to put food on our table, trying to help out with the bills. So all these circumstances– my sister is in college and she– we can barely afford it, you know. And so it brought us here. The struggle brought us to this occupation, this day, this moment.

[NATSOT]: It ain’t hard to occupy if you’re set on freedom.

BILL MOYERS: Amin Husain is a former corporate lawyer. He’s now an artist who has become one of the many organizers of Occupy Wall Street.

AMIN HUSAIN: This connection between government and state regulating money and the flow of money at the expense of 99 percent of the population is untenable and it’s no longer being accepted. There’s been a shift in the way that people think of themselves in this political process. That there has been a level of empowerment. But this movement is about transforming society.

WOMAN AT PROTEST: I just need to interrupt one second and say you’re doing a great! I love you. All of us who are sleeping at home, we’re writing letters, we’re thinking about you.

AMIN HUSAIN: Thank you, thank you. I really appreciate it.

WOMAN AT PROTEST: We’re changing our bank accounts!

YESENIA BARRAGAN: My family’s home was almost foreclosed in Hackensack, NJ. First by Providian Bank, then by Bank of America, then Chase. The names changes. And we were almost homeless.

BILL MOYERS: Yesenia Barragan is working for her doctorate in Latin American history at Columbia University.

YESENIA BARRAGAN: We were able to gather enough resources, enough money within our family to save the house. So we like to say that we were the lucky ones. And I’m basically here because I don’t want to live in a world where there are lucky ones and unlucky ones.

DANIEL LYNCH: My name is Daniel Lynch, I live in Manhattan. And in my spare time I try to trade stocks. I might even be center-right! And I still support this, and I want people to know that, right, 99 percent exactly, right? I’ve been worried for a long time about problems with wealth inequality in the country, income inequality, and I just wanted to throw my support a little. I don’t march, I don’t carry a sign. But I come down at night I talk to some people.

I believe in capitalism, I believe in capital markets. But unchecked like this, especially the way we have estate taxes, income taxes, it subverts capitalism, it becomes feudalism. Owners of capital are winning so much more than laborers, right capital it has no roots, right? To just deny that that’s happening and not have a little bit of an activist tax policy about it, I think is naïve, it’s destructive, and it’s just absurd.

NELINI STAMP: My name is Nelini Stamp, I’m 24 years old.

BILL MOYERS: Nelini Stamp is a community organizer. She joined Occupy Wall Street on its first day.

NELINI STAMP: I’ve been fed up with having to worry about living pay check to pay check because of corporate greed and because we don’t have a very high minimum wage in New York. I really just wanted to take a major leap in fighting back.

I think that we need to, first of all, have public financing of elections. That is a huge deal one of the reasons is why corporations– because there’s an unlimited amount of donations that they can give to political campaigns. And it’s about time we all stand up and take this back.

TYLER COMBELIC: I found my voice. I’ve been very apathetic, very cynical of the system that: do I matter? Do I matter to politicians? Do I matter to government when policies are being made?

BILL MOYERS: Tyler Combelic is a volunteer with the media outreach team.

TYLER COMBELIC: Personally, I want to see money out of government. I’m a very big proponent of campaign finance reform, of limiting the role of lobbyists, and limiting the role of corporate personhood because I feel right now, who has the largest war chest is the determiner of who’s going to be elected for a specific office or what kind of laws are going to be passed by Congress. And that corporatist-type of government is not what the United States is supposed to be.

MAN AT PROTEST: You got a better chance of being an organ donor than seeing any retirement money!

PETER CRAYCROFT: I think this is a perfect kind of forum for us all to come and talk about–

STEPHEN HAYS: Back and forth.

PETER CRAYCROFT: Yeah. I’ve seen many souls changed in the last three days.

STEPHEN HAYS: Really?

PETER CRAYCROFT: Yeah. On all sides. Including the other side of the–

STEPHEN HAYS: You see I came through the Woodstock generation and I thought it’s just back to business as usual and sort of it was a big party. That’s what I see this as, a party with no cover. I’m a defender of money. Freedom, individual freedom, rich people. Because I’m still, even though I’ve got gray, I’m still trying to be one. Because the more money I have the more good I can do. And it will be my decision as to how I allocate that good. How I allocate that capital.

When I look around at all these buildings, hospitals, colleges, I don’t see many poor people’s names. They’re all rich people. Reverend Ike a black minister who used to preach up here in New York. Used to say, “If you curse the rich, you’ll never be one.”

CALVIN BELL: Look at the people out here! You think they’re out here just hanging out? I mean, that blows my mind that you came out here and you said, well, people out here, you know, they have something against wealthy people, you know, wealthy people should be allowed to be wealthy people, because while we’re wealthy people we’ll throw money out and sprinkle them all and make people’s lives better. It’s not happening. Wealthy companies are not making the common person’s lives better. They’re taking their money, they’re moving it abroad, they’re doing different things. What’s that got to do with anything?

STEPHEN HAYS: You’ve got a nice camera, you’ve got clothes, you’re blessed.

CALVIN BELL: I just told you that I’m not one of the ones—

STEPHEN HAYS: I can’t be so pessimistic about things.

CALVIN BELL: I’m being realistic.

I live in a very nice house, my family’s blessed. So I’m not going to pretend that, you know, I don’t have anything. But I do also recognize that a lot of the situations we’re in now is because of greed. It’s because – it’s not what he said, you just let people take their money and they’ll do good things with it. Not all people do good things with their money.

WILLIAM K. BLACK: (During a teach-in) The one percent have dominant political power over both parties.

BILL MOYERS: Organizers invited Bill Black to lead a teach-in at “the people’s microphone.”

WILLIAM K. BLACK: (During a teach-in) How many think they stole from all of us?

BILL MOYERS: A senior federal regulator in the 1980s, Black cracked down on banks during the savings and loan crisis. He now teaches economics and law at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

WILLIAM K. BLACK: What we have is recurrent, intensifying financial crises driven by elite fraud and now it’s done with almost absolute impunity. So the whole idea of noblesse oblige and such and that the rich were supposed to have special responsibilities, that’s all gone, right? They have a God-given right to the lowest conceivable taxes.

When you put anti-regulators in charge of the agencies who believe that regulation is bad and completely unnecessary and they destroy it, creates a self-fulfilling prophecy that produces massive fraud at the most elite levels.

But, worse, it all feeds into politics. So, once you get a group that completely dominates the economy, they’re going to completely dominate politics, as well.

WILLIAM K. BLACK: (During a teach-in) There is no excuse for not prosecuting. It is an obscenity. It’s surrender to crony capitalism.

WILLIAM K. BLACK: What’s distressed me, and I think is one of the major reasons we get recurrent intensifying crises, is we seem to have lost our capacity for outrage. And it’s only people getting outraged that produces really positive social change.

[NATSOT]: We are the 99 percent! So are you! We are the 99 percent! So are you!

MARILYN BRANDEE: I’ve been waiting years for people to get angry enough to do something. We want to just support these young people and the people who are sacrificing so much comfort for all of us.

RONNI TERR: I have a brother who’s been out of work for two years. He has a family, I think it’s just terrible that they don’t care. They’re making millions of dollars. Mitch McConnell is a multi-millionaire, John Boehner is a multi-millionaire. They don’t care about the people, they really don’t. And their own districts have many people who are unemployed, who are having foreclosures. And it’s time they stop playing this game and really said, you know I think maybe we’ll pass something that will help build our infrastructure or get people back to work. So this is a start, I hope that it makes a dent. But the fact that it’s not just here, it’s all over the country now, means that somebody is waking up.

BILL MOYERS: Waking up is right. Waking up to the reality that inequality matters. It matters because what we’re talking about is what it takes to live a decent life. If you get sick without health coverage, inequality matters. If you’re the only breadwinner and out of work, inequality matters. If your local public library closes down and you can’t afford to buy books on your own, inequality matters. If budget cuts mean your child has to pay to play on the school basketball team or to sing in the chorus or march in the band, inequality matters. If you lose your job as you’re about to retire, inequality matters. And if the financial system collapses and knocks the props from beneath your pension, inequality matters.

I grew up in a working class family. We were among the poorest in town, but I was rich in public goods.

I went to a good public school, played sandlot ball in a good public park, had access to a good public library, drove down a good public highway to a good public college, all made possible by people I never met. There was an unwritten bargain among the generations — we didn’t all get the same deal, but we did get civilization.

That bargain’s being shredded. The occupiers of Wall Street understand this. You could tell from their slogans. A fellow young enough to be my grandson wore a t-shirt emblazoned with the words: “The system’s not broken. It’s fixed.” That’s right. Rigged. And that’s why so many are so angry. Not at wealth itself, but at the crony capitalists who resorts to tricks, loopholes, and hard, cold cash for politicians to make sure insiders prosper and then pull up the ladder behind them.

Yes, Americans are waking up. To how they’re being made to pay for Wall Street’s malfeasance and Washington’s complicity. Paying with stagnant wages and lost jobs, with slashing cuts to their benefits and to their social services. And waking up to the grotesque Supreme Court decision defining a corporation as a person, although it doesn’t eat, breath, make love or sing, or take care of children and aging parents. Waking up to how campaign contributions corrupt our elections; to the fact that if speech is money, no money means no speech.

So the collective cry has gone up loud and clear: enough’s enough. We won’t, as I said, know for a while if this is just a momentary cry of pain; or whether it’s a movement that, like the Abolitionists and Suffragettes, the populists and workers of another era, or the Civil Rights movement of our time, gathers force until the powers-that-be can no longer sustain the inequality, the injustice and yes, the immorality of winner-take-all politics.

Our coverage of politically engineered inequality continues in our next two broadcasts. First, David Stockman, a one-time enforcer of the Reagan revolution.

DAVID STOCKMAN: There was clearly reckless, speculative behavior going on for years on Wall Street. It was encouraged by the Federal Reserve which is dominated by Wall Street.

BILL MOYERS: And John Reed, a banker’s banker who was there when Washington loaded the dice, and Wall Street rolled them.

JOHN REED: It wasn’t that there was one or two or institutions that, you know, got carried away and did stupid things. It was, we all did. And then the whole system came down.

BILL MOYERS: And at our new website, BillMoyers.com, I interviewed two Occupy Wall Street organizers who give us insight into the movement and what it hopes to accomplish. We’ll also link you to our interview with the editors of Mother Jones magazine, and their coverage of the “dark money” that has cast a deep shadow across this election year. That’s at BillMoyers.com. See you there, and see you here next time

FFTP Editor Steven Thompson’s comments: Plain and simple? Former Louisiana Governor and former U.S. Congressman Buddy Roemer should be allowed to participate in the Republican primary debates. Neither the RNC or Mainstream Media have constitutional authority to exclude legitimate candidates who are seeking public office. CNN, Fox News, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNBC, PBS should all be joining C-SPAN in providing equal time to candidate Roemer.

Pasted from Candidate Buddy Roemer’s Presidential Website @ buddyroemer.com

Gov. Roemer Gets Local Support To Be Included in GOP Debates

Manchester, NH– Governor Charles E. “Buddy” Roemer today responded to a Boston Globe editorial which makes the case for his inclusion in the upcoming New Hampshire debates. In fact, several local media outlets and GOP activists have been calling for the four-term Congressman and former Governor of Louisiana to be included.

The Boston Globe editorial (Dec. 27, 2011) said that Governor Roemer is “making a dedicated effort in New Hampshire, where he polled ahead of Texas Governor Rick Perry in one recent survey, and should be included in the Granite State debates on Jan. 7 and 8… Roemer is capable of bringing fresh energy to the long-running GOP show: It’s even possible to imagine him catching fire for at least a moment, the way the tag team of Trump-Bachmann-Perry-Cain-Gingrich have all taken turns as Mitt Romney’s sparring partner.”

NHGOP State Committeeman Steve Duprey agreed, saying “Governor Roemer has worked hard enough in New Hampshire to be in every debate.”

Roemer confirmed that his campaign has been the most involved in the New Hampshire primary. “We’ve attended the most town halls and GOP meetings,” said Roemer. “Other candidates chose to make Florida their national headquarters, or have consistently skipped the First in the Nation Primary. When was the last time anyone in New Hampshire saw Michele Bachmann? I’m from Southern New Hampshire – you can tell by my accent.”

Former NHGOP Chairman Fergus Cullen shared the Boston Globe’s sentiment about including Gov. Roemer:

“Part of what makes the New Hampshire primary work is that we provide a level playing field where lesser known, lesser funded candidates have an equal opportunity to get their message out and earn support. To me, any candidate who has been elected to federal or statewide office meets the credibility threshold for inclusion in a debate. Buddy Roemer meets that criteria, and he’s also been working hard in New Hampshire, too. I think Buddy has earned a podium on the debate stage, and I hope organizers will include him.”

Roemer has demonstrated his ability to speak to all kinds of Republicans and independent voters, including both TEA Partiers and Occupy protestors. At base, Roemer has said, “they both know that politics in America stinks. It’s about the money. Presidential candidates are bought and sold by special interests.”

Jerry DeLemus, Chairman of the Granite State Patriots Liberty PAC, expressed frustration over the exclusion of Roemer from the debates so far:

“New Hampshire is known for our motto ‘Live Free or Die.’ So how is it that in our state we fail to embrace New Hampshire’s independent nature? I am referring to the exclusion of voices that need to be heard and for whatever reason are being kept from being included in the Primary Debates. One candidate is Governor Buddy Roemer who has also served in the United States Congress. I have met and talked with Governor Roemer on a number of occasions, as well as heard him speak to a number of New Hampshire ‘Liberty Groups.’ Governor Roemer is the only candidate I have witnessed receive a standing ovation. In an election as crucial as our next Presidential election it is imperative to hear from candidates like Governor Roemer, and I urge the debate organizers to be inclusive and to invite him to participate, as the voters deserve to hear all voices and ideas.”

Jane Aitken of the NH Tea Parties Coalition pointed to Governor Roemer’s experience:

“Corruption, out of control spending, and big government are probably the three main problems America faces today. These issues are at the forefront of the Roemer campaign. Voters should not overlook Gov Roemer’s experience in breaking up corruption in Louisiana, which puts him on the front lines of those who have actually done something.”

Governor Roemer recently earned the endorsements of State Rep. John Burt (R-Goffstown) and Plymouth area conservative activist Henry Ahern. State Rep. Kevin Avard, who previously endorsed Governor Perry, said that he “would appreciate Governor Roemer being included in the upcoming New Hampshire debates. Buddy would be a great alternative to the current crop of GOP candidates.”

But it’s up to you and me to make sure the voters understand the facts. We certainly can’t count on the national media to do that job!”

If there’s ever been an issue that needs to go viral-in-America it’s this…

U.S. Elections are 100% corrupted by corporations and the one percents (1%) money. Furthermore, What are the 99% doing to fix it?

Two Ads, Two States, One Million $$$, most of which ends up in the hands of broadcast radio and television networks, also referred to as the MSM on this and other “truth based” websites…

Summary

FACT: Our Political Process Is Corrupted By Big Money, How Do We Fix It?

SOLUTION: That’s easy, Make This Pledge, To Yourself And Country…

“I for one will only support and vote for federal candidates who will make the following statement binding and forever lasting policy as part of the FCC licensing process for all broadcast media outlets.”

Political Advertising will be FREE OF CHARGE for ALL CANDIDATES and ISSUES during ANY ELECTION where such candidates or issues appear on the official ballot. Failure to follow this policy will result in the termination of any or all FCC licenses held by such media outlet(s) or media network(s)… The end goal is to remove all profiteering from broadcast media in all U.S. Elections…

With this policy in place and full enforcement guaranteed, elections across these United States of America will finally become free and open to all who wish to proudly serve their nation, state, or community… Of, By and For “The People”… Without regard to personal wealth or personal/professional alliances…

In the early 1990′s, working class Americans were duped into believing in Newt Gingrich and his (Perot like) Contract With America… What we soon learned, after electing a large group of republicans (1994) to Congress (the “republican revolution”) was Newt’s total lack of sincerity. The Contract called for a large dose of political reforms that included term limits and real campaign finance reforms that would further limit unwanted corporate meddling in Americas electoral process… Months and years after, what America received was more of the same political corruption that many of us where beyond tired of. In addition, Newt’s republican revolution brought us the deregulation of laws (Glass-Steagall Act) that were created following the 1929 crash of Americas stock market.

What we now know is this… By electing republicans in 1994, thus promoting Newt Gingrich to House Speaker, the stage was set (via Senate Bill S-900) for the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis and 2008 global economic crisis that has all but destroyed Americas currency and middle class… And, as if this weren’t enough, Gingrich supported the creation and passing of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) which was signed into law by President Bill Clinton… Thanks to both political parties, republican and democrat, the American family and workforce were forever screwed by corporations like Walmart and General Electric to name a few…

Where was Americas watchdog media (MSM)? They, as like today’s coverage of the republican debates, are bought and paid for, just like the majority of politicians who will publicly state that they represent us, the 99%… You know, folks like Newt Gingrich, President Barack Hussein Obama or, Mitt Romney…

And now, the latest from Congressman Ron Paul

NEWT: a “counterfeit conservative.”

I am going to describe a candidate for you right now, and I want you to think about whether or not you would support him.

This candidate was for the individual mandate that served as the model for “ObamaCare.” He was originally for the TARP bank bailouts before he was against them. He joined with Nancy Pelosi to promote the anti-business “global warming” agenda.

He slammed Paul Ryan’s budget plan as “extreme,” calling it “right wing social engineering.”

You might think I am talking about Mitt Romney. Heck, you might think I’m talking about a liberal Democrat. But I’m not.

That candidate I’m talking about is Newt Gingrich. He is what I like to call a “counterfeit conservative.”

And I have barely even scratched the surface!

My campaign team has put together a great video that tells you more about Gingrich and his liberal positions over the years. It tells you how he flip-flopped on a host of important issues.

And it shows, despite his claims, he is simply not a conservative.

You can take a look at the video HERE.

You might have seen recently that Mr. Gingrich traded on his former political office to land a $1.8 million lobbying contract with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Why is this so disturbing?

Because while these out-of-control federal agencies were ruining the housing market and causing millions of homeowners to lose their homes and life savings, Newt Gingrich was earning millions advising them.

At that same exact time, I was publicly declaring they needed to be stopped before they ruined the economy.

I guess Newt Gingrich and I have a different idea of what to do with federal bureaucracies. I fight to rein them in and shut them down before they can do harm. He pads his personal bank account while they wreck our economy.

While I was fighting environmental extremists, the out-of-control EPA, and the Soros-funded green movement, Newt Gingrich was filming commercials with Nancy Pelosi.

While I was fighting government bailouts, Newt was saying he would have voted FOR them.

Don’t be fooled by the words candidates use when they are running for office. Look hard at their records. My record is one of true limited government, anti-Washington, D.C. conservatism.

Newt Gingrich has a long record of liberal appeasement, flip-flopping on key issues, and lobbying for insider millions.

Millions. That’s right. Remember the individual mandate I mentioned earlier that Newt supported? His healthcare group received nearly $40 MILLION in contributions from the healthcare industry.

I have rarely seen a candidate who represents so much of what is wrong with Washington and what is wrong with our political system.

We can and must demand better.

We must demand REAL conservative values. We must demand a person who puts faith, family, and freedom ahead of all else. And we must demand a candidate who has remained true to principle his entire career.

I believe I am that candidate, and I ask you to take a look at my Plan to Restore America at www.ronpaul2012.com.

You can tell I mean every word in it — just as I’ve meant every word I have said in public life. And that’s something that everyone will admit, whether they agree with all of my positions or not.

With me, what you see and hear is what you get. Wouldn’t that be a nice change?

I am the only true conservative in the top tier of candidates running for the GOP nomination. And I ask for your support.

Together we can stop the counterfeit conservatives AND the liberals in the White House. We can take back and Restore America Now.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

P.S. Whether it’s flip-flopping on TARP, supporting the individual mandate that served as a model for “ObamaCare,” joining with Nancy Pelosi in support of the global-warming crowd’s radical agenda, or making millions off of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as they helped destroy our economy, Newt Gingrich is trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

He’s what I call a “counterfeit conservative.”

Here’s an ad my campaign put together explaining his record of supporting liberal policies. Please take a moment to watch it.

And, if possible, contribute to my campaign as generously as you can to help me run this ad and get my message of liberty out with mail, internet advertising, and an all-out media blitz.

90 seconds.

That’s how much of the first hour of tonight’s GOP debate was given to [Congressman] Ron Paul. 90 measly seconds out of 3,600 seconds.

The remaining 3,510 seconds were spent with the other major candidates:

** Declaring their desire to start wars in Iran, Pakistan, and Syria;

** Rehashing their support for torture;

** Agreeing that President Obama has the right to unilaterally assassinate an American citizen without a court conviction;

** Explaining their plans to continue nation-building, policing, and occupying countries across the globe.

It literally made me sick watching the mainstream media once again silence the one sane voice in this election. The one dissenter to a decade of unchecked war. The one candidate who stands for true defense and actual constitutional government.

Ron Paul was silenced, in perhaps the most important debate of the cycle.

You have to ask yourself why.

I think I know the answer. Both parties have perpetuated the foreign policy that is bankrupting our nation and tearing apart the world.

Both parties have started wars without proper congressional authorization.

Both parties have fabricated reasons for war.

Both parties’ outrageous spending has taken us to the brink of disaster.

And if the other candidates on the stage tonight are to be believed, then there is only one candidate who would break the globalists’ stranglehold over our foreign policy, our Treasury, and the lives of our family, friends, and neighbors in the armed forces.

Ron Paul could change history. He could save our great nation from its own devastating policies of the past 10 years.

If his voice could be heard.

The media has once again BLACKED OUT Ron Paul.

Will you let it stand??

After almost two days, our Veterans Day Weekend Money Bomb has raised $758,977.

No doubt, that is a powerful total.

But it is not enough. I have met with our accountants and media team, and we have determined we must raise an additional $500,000 in the next 24 hours to be able to run the ads and mail the letters we need in the next 10 days.

I know $500,000 more is a lot to ask.

But you just saw what we are up against.

The policies of unlimited war, torture, and bankruptcy were given 3,510 seconds to be heard in one televised hour of tonight’s foreign policy debate.

Ron Paul was given 90 seconds.

Peace was ignored. A sane national defense policy was shut out.

Rational spending and our Constitution were thrown out the window.

Only you can help make this right.

We can complain all we want, but the reality is this: the other side wins this debate – and their foreign policy carries the day – unless Ron Paul can break through.

As Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton said in a press release issued immediately after the debate, “CBS News, in their arrogance, may think they can choose the next President. Fortunately, the people of Iowa, New Hampshire, and across America get to vote and not the media elites.”

But Ron Paul needs you to help him reach those voters and WIN this race.

Can I count on you tonight?

Can Ron count on you over the next 24 hours?

Please help us fight back by clicking HERE right now to donate.

I hope you are as fed up and outraged as I am.

If you are, you will redouble your efforts to help Ron succeed on a night where the establishment did its best to shut out a veteran, a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the leading spokesman for a strong national defense.

For Liberty,

John Tate

Are you (as I) a disgusted middle or low income American? Does your memory (as mine) allow you to recall political events as far back as 2009? In case you’ve forgotten, Congress and President’s Bush and Obama supported and authorized a 700+ Billion dollar bailout for (favored) corrupt financial institutions that included Bank of America…

Why, in 2011 should we care to remember this dark period in Americas political history?

Perhaps, as I, you’re the type of American who believes in holding people accountable for their corruption or illegal actions…

Earlier tonight, I happened to stop on the cable TV channel formerly known as Superstation WTBS Atlanta… As the camera’s closed in on either dugout (Yankees vs. Tigers) and behind home plate one could easily see who the major sponsor of this MLB playoff game happened to be… YES, it was Bank of America, a recipient of Billions of U.S. Taxpayer Bailout dollars who also bought out Countrywide Mortgage who has profited from predatory lending and the foreclosure of tens of thousands of elderly Americans…

These undeniable facts beg the question, Is Bailout Money Received By Bank Of America Being Used To Sponsor Major League Baseball And, Those Who Broadcast MLB Games?

The obvious undeniable answer is YES…which begs the question of, Why Should Americans Support Bank of America, Major League Baseball or Mainstream Media Companies (Like TBS) Who Cannot Resist Accepting U.S. Taxpayer (bailout) Money?

I’d love to read what you’re thinking and whether or not you will hold these corporations accountable…

Written by: Bruce Field

brfield@hotmail.com

Summary of City of Denver Corruption

Like Bell, California, the city of Denver, Colorado (to quote Mr. Ralph Nader) “has a local government which has proven to be citizen-proof, media proof, city-council proof and even leak-proof from inside its self-enriching top officialdom”. But Denver’s “Officialdom” does it in a much more covert, fraudulent and abusive manner than Bell.

Get this disturbing fact; the millionaire former mayor (now Governor) of Denver (John Hickenlooper) has personally appointed all the members of the Water Board Commission; these five people, (primarily lawyers and developers) illegally control the largest public water system in Colorado. They in turn approve in lockstep, all the contracts, bonds and rate increases they are given, which many are overpriced or unneeded. If a citizen protests, they are intimidated, belittled or ignored. Isn’t it illegal for a mayor and five friends to control a public water utility? Not it Denver!

This organized theft of taxpayer funds is very entrenched, well planned, and covert and has been taking millions of dollars for years from the Denver metro citizens. This covert organization has disturbing political protection. The police, the district attorney office and the state attorney general won’t investigate it when it was reported to them by letter and/or in person. When members of the city council of this large city were informed of the fraud by letter and in person, they claimed no responsibility to look into the manner and then lied about their responsibilities to the citizens. As did the over paid city auditor (Dennis Gallagher) and his key staff. When the local media was informed by direct meetings or phone calls, they ignored the serious problems and lied also. This includes reporters at the bankrupted Denver Post and major TV networks. See a pattern like Bell?

So similar to the city of Bell, when these few corrupt City of Denver officials control the money, the media, the city council and the law enforcement, what is there to stop this large-scale fraud? Nothing, so it has gone on for years, at the expense and abuse of the U.S. taxpayer, Denver metro citizen and the abused city workers. If you report this huge fraud, safety violations or other abuses, you are ignored, threatened, fired and stifled by a gang of corrupt attorneys from either the city and/ or the water utility.

You would expect expressions of shock and dismay from the elected people, the so-called, senators and congressional representatives of Colorado (Michael Bennett, Mark Udall, Diane DeGette and Ed Perlmutter). All four have been informed of the corruption by letter or in person by concerned Denver metro citizens, but ignored the problem, refused to address it and/or lied in violation of their oaths of office. The former governor (Bill Ritter) office was informed as well and claimed no jurisdiction to look into the crimes. This is a lie as well. A reasonable person would be concerned what these high paid elected officials are getting to ignore this and keep quiet.

The Water Board Commission (the five friends of the mayor) just recently, unanimously approved a water rate increase, even though numerous metro Denver citizens complained about problems of fraud, safety violations, employee abuse and numerous other problems. The rate increase was unneeded and a few managers at the water utility fabricated the justification. These millions of dollars in overcharges will be used to pay for exorbitant contracts to benefactors of the fraud, like the $7,360,148 paid to the URS Corporation to do a draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) report on an unneeded dam project. With about $2.22 million in Phase V to; “provide responses to comments on the DEIS, revise the DEIS and then prepare the Final EIS”. This is an outrage.

At least a dozen employees in the Denver City Hall know of this corruption and chose not to talk or leak the news over the years. The city newspapers, TV and radio stations as mentioned, do nothing to dig it out. The city council knows, but is compromised by its involvement in the corruption; each gets about $337,000 each year for salary, expenses and staff, other large Colorado cities paid only $6,250/ year! None of the town gadflies or skeptics bothered to reveal these problems. A gutsy, smart construction inspector with 20 years experience was fired for reporting construction project fraud in Sept. 2008; an ethical project auditor was fired in Feb. 2009 for not going along with the fraud. Another brave city employee, who reported the fraud abuses within his department, was sent home on “house arrest” and then laid off in Nov. 2009. See a pattern of cover-up and abuse? You would think, all that is needed to bring this to light was one or two people blowing the whistle. Bu!
t in Denver, you report fraud by city officials and no one hears it, because the media is corrupted and controlled. So your reward is media silence or biased reporting, illegal retaliation, abuse and termination. Here in mile high Denver, the millionaire former mayor and his staff covertly promote intimation and fear to keep your job and cover-up their corruption; what a place to work and live! Report corruption and get beat-up and down for it by the local media, elected officials and a gang of attorneys who stifle voices and cover-up the fraud and other abuses.

Please note, this fraud and other information is not opinion. Its arithmetic-crisp numbers and facts that can easily be shown to be well planned, covert abuse by anyone willing to listen and learn in a few minutes. The safety violations, employee abuses and other problems can easily be shown to be occurring as well by numerous concerned citizens.

To arouse the citizens in Denver they need an ethical source to investigate this and expose this ongoing corruption. Obviously, no agency locally will do any thing to expose this abuse, in this clearly organized crime controlled town. What is at stake is the continued organized theft of millions of dollars each year from the U.S. taxpayer, Denver metro citizens, thousands of employees are exposed to an unsafe and abusive work environment, water quality is compromised and the poorest and elderly in Denver get ripped off the most. They certainly cannot afford this abuse! More details can be provided by numerous concerned citizens, who just want high quality water and the right to job and a clean, healthy environment without fear of loss of work, health, being intimidation or abuse by corrupt, greedy attorneys, officials or managers involved in organized theft.

The saving grace in Bell is that, once they found out, folks rushed in protest to the crowded city council meeting and the perpetrators will now be held accountable. But how can people in any city be outraged if it isn’t investigated and reported to them from a worthy source? If you care about your water system, you need to find out; who actually controls the water in your city? Is it private or public? Does the mayor appoint all the people who control the water system? Are these people there because they have outside agendas? Where does the revenue-generated money go? What are the actual expenses? Is it safe to drink? Why are bonds being issued? If employees reports problems, are they threatened or fired? Is your local media corrupted? If you have not asked these questions, then you may already have the water corruption existing in Denver; a public water system covertly privatized to illegally benefit the millionaire former mayor and his friends with help from the media!
, law enforcement and any others. People have a right to clean water and at the lowest cost possible anywhere in the world, including Denver. In addition we as U.S. citizens have the right to expect Federal agencies to investigate this huge corruption problem aggressively and in the best interest of the Public they are paid by. No evidence currently shows anything has been done to protect the citizens by any Federal agency.

Written by: Larry Shook larryshook.com

Dick Adams wrote an email to the Spokane, WA, City Council and Mayor Mary Verner last week that, when you put two and two together, has the effect of indicting the mayor for anarchy. Actually, the evidence suggests to me that the mayor effectively confessed to anarchy three years ago with a surprisingly candid email she wrote to a former sheriff. Mr. Adams’s email shows what Mayor Verner’s anarchy is costing her citizens.

Mr. Adams objected to consideration that Spokane chief financial officer Gavin Cooley is giving to “charging our city credit card” by selling $45 million of councilmanic bonds. Mr. Adams told me that he considers this an illegal use of public debt because its purpose is to solve a financial crisis caused by an earlier illegal use of public debt. Mr. Cooley is an agent of both frauds, charges Mr. Adams, which stem from the River Park Square financial scandal.

Dick Adams is hardly alone in decrying such abuse of public finance as part of a much larger pattern of government behavior in America today. A retired executive of a U.S. Steel subsidiary, Mr. Adams is well known for his financial expertise. Over the years he has been one of the closest and most knowledgeable observers of municipal finance in Spokane. Not just Teapartiers agree with him that America’s fiscal lawlessness has become nothing less than a government Ponzi scheme now threatening the country with an historic economic catastrophe.

In this heist, never-ending layers of debt are added to sub-layers. (Mr. Adams is horrified that American citizens now owe nearly a trillion dollars to China.) Much of this debt, as in the case of Wall Street’s 2008 meltdown and its globally transmitted fiscal disease of derivatives, is directly traceable to criminal activity. The criminal enterprise involves government officials helping private interests steal money from the public. The criminals keep getting away with their crime because of the gangsterization of government. Government criminals, naturally, will not prosecute themselves for their crimes.

At the heart of the 2008 meltdown is a structural accounting fraud that U.S. government leaders embedded in the global economy with their refusal to regulate derivatives and impose generally accepted accounting principles on them. That refusal is why uber investor Warren Buffett called derivatives “weapons of financial mass destruction.” Responsible government regulation of derivatives would have mandated full disclosure of their true asset value, and that might have averted the historic economic emergency now threatening the nation. For a quick review of U.S. government culpability in this emergency, watch the PBS Frontline report called “The Warning,” http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/warning/view/.

In that report, you’ll hear this exchange between a Congressional hearing panelist and former Chairwoman of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, Brooksley Born:

Q: What are you trying to protect?

Born: We’re trying to protect the money of the American public.

The Clinton Administration chose not to accept that mission. Neither did the Bush Administration. Nor has Barack Obama’s Administration. When President Obama, the eloquent purveyor of hope, and the U.S. Congress got around to passing last year’s “financial reform” legislation, they accepted assistance from 54 financial industry lobbying firms that spent $300 million. That trifling investment bought Wall Street the ability to keep gambling with the money of the American people—and the fate of the global economy. (See John Cassidy’s “Annals of Economics: The Volker Rule,” in the 7/26/10 issue of The New Yorker.)

Public/Private Crime

From accounts like these, government officials and various private interests emerge as little more than glib public/private mobsters. Untouchable by virtue of the legal immunity they gain from their control of government, they’re able to enjoy their champagne while blowing raspberries at the rest of the world. In this scenario, the citizens of the world become to the public/private mobsters what the Jews of Europe were to the Nazis—compliant souls to be herded into ghettos for scheduled liquidation. The liquidation in this case, of course, is not of actual bodies based on criminal insanity of the political kind. Instead, it is liquidation of personal wealth—and civilization’s hope—resulting from criminal insanity of the economic kind. Thus have the nations of the world become ghettos for the use of organized financial crime.

Mr. Adams’s email connects to this bigger picture, because the settled evidence clearly shows that Spokane’s River Park Square scandal was the work of public/private mobsters. River Park Square is hometown civic theater to Wall Street’s Broadway extravaganza.

Supporters of RPS euphemistically called it a public/private partnership. Details of the project that surfaced in federal municipal securities fraud litigation, an IRS investigation, and extensive national prize-winning investigative reporting by my colleagues and me (see www.camasmagazine.com) show that RPS was just carefully packaged public/private crime.

Ugly facts clearly show that River Park Square developer Betsy Cowles set out to commit crime, and that her newspaper publisher brother, Stacey Cowles, did, too. Mr. Cowles’s crime was to provide the use of the family’s newspaper, The Spokesman-Review, to package his little sister’s real estate crime for public consumption.

This whole sordid history is tediously documented elsewhere on this blog and various links cited by it. Consider the following:

For evidence that Betsy Cowles knowingly set out to break the law, see the story “Missing Man,” http://www.camasmagazine.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?aid=177. Open Ms. Cowles’s infamous 3/9/95 “divide and conquer” memo. That memo proves that Ms. Cowles, a lawyer, intended to violate federal securities law by hiding from investors her plan to launder a $23 million federal loan into the Nordstrom Co. by giving Nordstrom a free new store in Spokane. To accomplish this crime, she intended to “divide and conquer” Spokane’s city government, a time-honored tactic of despots. See “Inside Job,” http://www.camasmagazine.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?aid=101, for proof that the Cowleses set out to secretly access public funds in a way that violated federal guidelines, and that Spokane public officials helped them do it. As companion reading, see the story “Fraudville, USA,” http://www.camasmagazine.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?aid=179. Read the RPS bondholders’ 91-point Omnibus Statement of Facts. It documents the securities fraud engineered by Ms. Cowles with active complicity of a host of Spokane officials. The city admitted to its role in this crime by purchasing the bondholders’ complaint and promising to recover the $26 million it paid Ms. Cowles for the RPS garage. But then the city pulled yet another bait and switch on its citizens. It let Ms. Cowles keep her stolen money, and, with the help of the IRS, saddled Spokane’s citizens with the cost of the Cowles robbery. See “A New RPS Fraud?”, http://www.camasmagazine.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?aid=199.

For evidence that Spokesman-Review publisher Stacey Cowles used the family’s paper to cover up the RPS crime, begin with “All in the Family,” http://www.camasmagazine.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?aid=65. See also, “Breaking the News,” http://www.camasmagazine.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?aid=172. There you’ll find evidence that Mr. Cowles turned his paper into a propaganda machine for his family’s highly organized criminal enterprise of illegally leveraging a minimum of $100 million in public funds to refurbish the Cowles family’s downtown shopping mall—River Park Square. You’ll also see evidence that when Mr. Cowles allowed his editor, Chris Peck, to twice attack former Mayor John Talbott as a “civic terrorist” for trying to expose the $23 million federal loan fraud, both Mr. Cowles and Mr. Peck were in possession of evidence showing that they knew they were falsely accusing him. That is, they were falsely accusing a mayor who was trying to expose the truth and serve those who elected him. This is the blackest of journalism sins. It’s known as “actual malice libel.” That refers to the intentional publication of a lie. Mr. Cowles’s purpose in publishing these lies was obviously to help the Cowles family with its massive public robbery. Mr. Peck’s purpose was apparently to keep his job as a handsomely paid Cowles bagman. To do that, he was willing to also become a hit man, assassinating in front of the community the character of mayor who deserved praise for his exemplary courage. Because the evidence shows that RPS represents continuing organized crime, and because there is no statute of limitations for such crime, I happen to believe that Mayor Talbott could at any time bring a civil RICO actual malice libel case against both Mr. Cowles and Mr. Peck. RICO provides for the recovery of treble damages, because its purpose is to destroy organized crime. The former mayor was the leader duly elected by the people of Spokane to protect them from the Cowles family’s $100 million RPS fraud. The evidence of fraud is settled. The evidence of actual malice libel is irrefutable. The evidence that Betsy and Stacey Cowles mounted a secret political campaign to defeat Talbott is also irrefutable. (See, “How a publishing heiress went after an uncooperative mayor: http://www.camasmagazine.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?aid=181 .) The actual losses to the municipality of Spokane resulting from the Cowles family’s criminal character assassination of Mayor Talbott and clandestine political attack on him would require forensic accounting. But that would be pretty easy.

For further evidence of my allegations that RPS was public/private crime, you might wish to review: “Open Letter to an Ethicist” and “American Serbia,” below. See also http://www.camasmagazine.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?aid=185, which is an article about a national first-place journalism award for a 10-part reporting package titled “How The Spokesman-Review Subverted Democracy in Spokane, Washington.” See also“The Casino Was Rigged,” which describes the evidence of (un-prosecuted) crime found by the IRS: http://www.camasmagazine.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?aid=189.

Where’s the Anarchy?

So far, government watchdogs, bought and paid for by the private interests that control their bosses, carefully trained by their bosses not to bark when such crimes are committed, have obediently not barked. The watchdogs’ complicity just adds to a history that, as Mr. Adams’s email shows, can only get uglier so long as the perpetrators are not brought to justice.

The RPS crime is the reason that the specific number Mr. Adams is questioning—$45 million—raises the specter of the mayor’s anarchy.

The new layer of debt Mr. Cooley wants to lay on the public matches almost precisely the $44.8 million layer of debt that he and other public officials charged their citizens to pay off the RPS fraud that they had perpetrated on them.

“To me, what Cooley is trying to do has the appearance of refinancing the RPS fraud,” says Mr. Adams. “This should be discussed at least until 2030, which is when the RPS bond fraud will finally be paid off.”

Mary Verner, as she is well aware, plays a central role in this “scheme.” Scheme is what the IRS called it. In this scheme, then-Councilwoman Verner helped hold open the bag into which she and her fellow public servants illegally shoveled the swag of tens of millions of public dollars. And then they submissively handed the bag over to Betsy Cowles.

“A New RPS Fraud?” shows how upset Councilwoman Verner, who is also a lawyer, claimed to be about her role in this theft. But she did nothing about it. She joined the great pack of barkless watchdogs.

It’s the email Councilwoman Verner wrote to former Sheriff Tony Bamonte, when she was running for mayor, in which she convicts herself of anarchy. Anarchy, of course, is the dog-eat-dog chaos that results from an absence of government.

Sheriff Bamonte has been a prominent enough Democrat for decades that every electoral season candidates, Democrat and Republican alike, make a pilgrimage to his home, seeking his endorsement. Mary Verner did that when she ran for mayor in 2007.

Sheriff Bamonte said he would support her conditioned on her promise to prosecute the RPS crime, particularly the death of Jo Ellen Savage in the RPS garage. Bamonte had filed criminal complaints charging that Savage’s death was first-degree manslaughter resulting from Cowles neglect. (See “Deathtrap,” http://www.girlfromhotsprings.com/ and “America’s Most Dangerous Cop,” and “American Serbia,” below.) Verner made that promise, according to Bamonte and others present at a meeting in the former sheriff’s home.

Afterward, Bamonte got worried, because Verner said nothing about RPS during her campaign. He called her on it and she responded with an email that deserves a prominent place in the RPS Document Hall of Shame. “I recognize the huge issues of morality, courage, and strength of character involved in taking on the RPS issue,” she wrote in her Nov. 2, 2007 email. “I also know that if I make RPS a cornerstone of my campaign platform, the ‘powers that be’ will ensure that I do not get elected … period.” [See "Powers that Be" link in "American Serbia," below.] Â

I’ve never been able to understand what possessed Verner to make such an admission to the former sheriff credited with solving the oldest open murder case in U.S. history. Did she really think that Tony Bamonte didn’t know the loneliness of taking on “powers that be?” But there you have it in the mayor’s own words—frank acknowledgment of the existence of public corruption in Spokane more powerful than the city’s government. Frank acknowledgment, too, that she lacked the “morality, courage, and strength of character” to confront it, even as she campaigned for a job that required her to do so. It’s hard to think of a better example of the most dangerous kind of anarchy there is—criminal government. Violent terrorists and Molotov cocktail-hurling street protesters are feeble by comparison.

Mayor Verner has declined to talk with me about her “powers that be” email. She also declines to discuss an order she purportedly received from Betsy Cowles shortly after her election.

Sheriff Bamonte says that Shannon Sullivan, a close friend of Mayor Verner’s, contacted him last year with a disturbing account. Ms. Sullivan, the woman who led the successful drive to recall former Mayor Jim West over a sex abuse scandal, told Bamonte that she was in Verner’s office when Cowles called her and ordered her to take a trip with her. Bamonte told me at the time that Sullivan said the trip involved a flight on Cowles’s private jet.

I found Sullivan’s allegation interesting, because of the IRS findings that the Cowles family controls Spokane’s government. (See “The Casino Was Rigged,” linked above.)

When I asked Ms. Sullivan about the purported Verner/Cowles plane ride, she wrote back denying she had told Bamonte about it. Suzanne Bamonte, the former sheriff’s wife, says she was present when Ms. Sullivan related this account. I provided Ms. Sullivan a memo written by Mrs. Bamonte summarizing her recollection of Sullivan’s story. I requested Ms. Sullivan’s comment on Mrs. Bamonte’s memo. Ms. Sullivan did not respond. So far, Mayor Verner and Ms. Cowles have also not responded to my requests for comment on the alleged plane ride. If they do, I will post their comments here. Meanwhile, I invite Mayor Verner, Ms. Sullivan, and Ms. Cowles to post their comments about this matter here.

If you are concerned about injustice, the economic crisis, declining property values or government corruption, you might want to attend this rally tomorrow afternoon in Ft. Lauderdale.  The details are below, but please note that the starting time is 4:00 PM, not 4:30.

If you want to know why banksters can get away with committing fraud to steal the homes and life savings of millions of Americans and steal from every American by raiding the treasury, see Why Does the Government Ignore Our Wishes? and don’t miss my short speech.

My article on torture includes a link to the U.S. Supreme Court case which explains how one of our stolen rights makes the difference between justice and injustice, between freedom and slavery.

When we accept a position for employment we’re often provided with multiple choices for insurance and retirement. What’s missing is our ability to choose our method of compensation. Should we simply do as we’ve done in years past by placing all of our trust, faith and confidence in the American dollar? What if company ABC gave you an option other than greenbacks for compensation?

Personally, I’d jump on an offer of gold for wages and would suggest that this option should be demanded by all who currently work for a living. Gold will always have value. Can the same be said for the U.S. dollar?

America, What a Country!

It’s hard to fathom how far the average American has advanced in such little time. When I was a child, I lived in a modest middle-class home where my father worked as a machinist for a major railroad. We didn’t have a ton of money but dad made enough to support our family while mom stayed home to care for me and my little sister. In addition to dad’s wage, the railroad provided medical insurance and a retirement that currently pays to support my mother.

Since the 1950′s and 1960′s, what’s changed?

To put it in simple terms, we, the American middle-class have been sold out. From our government leaders to those who run our labor unions. In 2010, it’s all about corporate and Wall Street profits. Whatever it takes to turn a worthless buck.

Need I say more?

Are Wild Bison becoming an endangered species? During a recent outing to Bozeman Montana, my wife and I had the privilege to meet two representatives from the organization known as Buffalo Field Campaign based out of West Yellowstone, Montana. Prior to this encounter, we’d always assumed that wild herds of Bison living in Yellowstone National Park were protected. We were wrong.

Prior to the European invasion of North America, millions of Bison could be seen grazing the grasslands of the U.S. and Canada. Bison and Salmon were common foods eaten by those who were native to these area’s. As the native peoples were herded up and placed onto many reservations, the great American Bison were being slaughtered to near extinction. Yellowstone National Park became one of the last wild settings where the American Bison could truly roam free.

For many decades, those who head up the powerful cattle lobby have argued against the freedom of American Bison. A common disease found in some Bison (brucellosis) is also found in some cattle and other wild game such as Elk. Elk are allowed to roam America freely, why are we citizens funding a government program that hazes wild Bison as seen in this video?

To learn more about Bison, click any of the links found in this article. As with the American Bald Eagle, I believe Buffalo deserve federal and state protection.

It’s no secret that Bison meat is healthier for humans than beef. Our elected leaders need to know these facts and make correct decisions concerning American Bison. The cattle industry is dumping an inferior product onto our family dinner table and into our restaurants.

THEREFORE, A PERSON CAN NOT AND SHOULD NOT BE ARRESTED WITHOUT PROOF OF A CRIME, WITNESSES,ETC. I WAS ARRESTED BECAUSE A COURTHOUSE EMPLOYEE AND A JUDGE WERE FRIENDS. A FELONY WARRANT WAS ISSUED AND SIGNED BY JUDGE BILLY JOE CHANDLER AND THERE IS NO PROOF OF A CRIME, NO WITNESS ONLY THE EMPLOYEES STATEMENTS. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS NO WARRANT HEARING HELD; WHICH IS YET AGAIN ILLEGAL.  WHEN THE DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE REQUESTED PROOF OF A CRIME TO PROSECUTE; THE EMPLOYEE COULDNT PRESENT ANY, YET THE CASE IS STILL PENDING AND I STILL HAVE A FELONY-AGGRAVATED STALKING CHARGE ON ME.

IF A PERSON OFF THE STREET CAN COME INTO THE COURTHOUSE AND HAVE A FELONY WARRANT TAKEN OUT ON SOMEONE WITHOUT PROOF, WITNESSES, OR POLICE STATEMENT THEN WE ARE LIVING IN A DANGEROUS SOCIETY.  JACKSON COUNTY GOVERNMENT HAS DISPLAYED ONCE AGAIN THAT THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THE LAW ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY INTENTIONALLY INFRINGE UPON SOMEONES FOURTH AMENDMENT RIGHTS.

Political Corruption in America begins and ends with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). By design, this governmental agency sets “communications policy” for the sitting President. FCC policy doesn’t seem to change regardless of whether or not a Democrat or Republican holds the office of President of the United States of America.

Since the advent of broadcast television and radio, the FCC, with full support and leadership from both political parties (Democrat and Republican) have all but destroyed our most precious right as American citizens. What right am I speaking of? Our right to vote in an open and free democratic election.

Yes, us mere citizens can still vote but who are we really voting for? Is there any “real difference” between the “media supported” candidates? And who or what determines within the American media establishment which candidates are the best and brightest for Americas political future?

Flip on any major radio or television news channel and you’ll hear the same old tune that’s created 16 million unemployed Americans. You’ll also hear how billions of U.S. dollars are being wasted to bailout Ivy league scam artists who happen to head up some of Americas biggest financial institutions which include yet another corrupted, bi-partisan led government agency, the U.S. Department of Treasury.

What you wont hear on any major news broadcast is real debate from real citizens. Unfiltered news and real public debate would go a long way into fixing most of Americas political problems. Imagine open and fair media access to any and all U.S. citizens interested in fixing our government from Main Street to the halls of Congress.

Real political reform will only happen in America when federal agencies such as the FCC become depoliticized. In 2010, we have news channels, movie channels, sports channels, shopping channels and sex channels. We even have a “liquidation” channel. All of this programming begs the question, Why Don’t We Have “Election” channels that provide free and open access to all who wish to make America a better country for All Americans?

March 5, 2010 | Written by: Retired Sheriff Tony Bamonte

To: Gary Graham, editor, Spokesman-Review, 999 West Riverside Avenue, Spokane, WA 99210

Dear Mr. Graham:

About a week ago, Randy Shaw, of KREM news Channel 2 broke a story concerning a major multi-million dollar fraud in the assessors office. I find it exceptionally suspicious and disappointing that there is no mention of that scandal in the Spokesman-Review, especially since in my research as a Spokane historian, this is the biggest scandal to ever occur in the history of the Spokane assessor’s office. In other words, this should be a front-page top-of-the-page headline, yet it did not receive even a mention in your newspaper.

I am aware of the vast amounts of properties your employers own, as I’m sure you must also be. I am also aware of real estate values in Spokane as, following my law enforcement career, I worked for three years in Spokane as an appraiser and 12 years as a licensed Washington State realtor. I have already examined some of the assessed values of Cowles’s real estate and have found them to be highly under-assessed in value. The fact that the assessor’s conduct is not being reported in your paper creates the impression that Mr. Baker is providing your employers with special property tax favors in return for political support and protection from your employers. As I recall (please correct me if I am wrong), Mr. Baker has been endorsed by your editorial board during each of his elections.

Most important, it appears Mr. Baker’s actions as the Spokane County Assessor are not honorable or in the best interest of the public. Consequently, the public has a need to when they have a corrupt official. Since the Spokesman-Review is the paper of record for Spokane County, you have an obligation to adhere to your code of ethics. The public has the right and need to know when a public official is corrupt. Consequently, you have a duty to inform the public of Mr. Baker’s misconduct in office.

Mr. Graham, at this time I respectfully request that you cause a journalistic investigation of the assessor’s office to be made and report according in a timely manner. Please advise me if I can be of any assistance in this matter.

Sincerely,

Tony Bamonte

Freedom From The Press

Much is written and said about corporate money going to RNC and DNC candidates. Candidates are required to file reports showing how much money they’ve raised and from whom.

What isn’t being reported or discussed is where does all of that money go? The answer is the mainstream media… What goes unanswered is how much money do individual media companies earn from U.S. elections? And, should media companies be required to disclose all income received from our electoral processes?

I raise these questions because this amount of income is massive, perhaps as much as 25% of any particular MSM companies entire income stream. That said, why would the MSM ever dare to address any real public debate on campaign finance reform? In addition, what current incentive would MSM companies have to allow their news divisions the ability to report on any particular candidate or political organization that promotes FCC regulations in support of free airtime for all viable political organizations or candidates?

ATTORNEY GENERAL CUOMO FILES FRAUD CHARGES AGAINST BANK OF AMERICA, FORMER CEO KENNETH LEWIS, AND FORMER CFO JOSEPH PRICE

Suit Alleges Bank of America’s Top Management Hid Skyrocketing Losses at Merrill Lynch
Bank of America Management Manipulated Federal Government into Granting Massive Taxpayer Bailout

NEW YORK, NY (February 4, 2010) – Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo, joined by Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program Neil Barofsky, today announced a lawsuit against Bank of America, its former CEO Kenneth D. Lewis, and its former CFO Joseph L. Price for duping shareholders and the federal government in order to complete a merger with Merrill Lynch. According to the lawsuit, Bank of America’s management intentionally failed to disclose massive losses at Merrill so that shareholders would vote to approve the merger. Once the deal was approved, Bank of America’s management manipulated the federal government into saving the deal with billions in taxpayer funds by falsely claiming that they would back out of the deal without bailout funds.

“This merger is a classic example of how the actions of our nation’s largest financial institutions led to the near-collapse of our financial system,” said Attorney General Cuomo. “Bank of America, through its top management, engaged in a concerted effort to deceive shareholders and American taxpayers at large. This was an arrogant scheme hatched by the bank’s top executives who believed they could play by their own set of rules. In the end, they committed an enormous fraud and American taxpayers ended up paying billions for Bank of America’s misdeeds.”

“The events surrounding the Bank of America/Merrill Lynch merger and the United States Government’s investment in Bank of America through the Troubled Asset Relief Program are an important part of the history of the financial crisis,” said Special Inspector General Neil Barofsky. “Attorney General Cuomo and his staff, working hand in hand with the law enforcement agents of SIGTARP, quickly identified the important shareholder and taxpayer interests at stake in the disclosures surrounding the merger and meticulously pieced together the evidence that supports the historic charges filed today. The close partnership between the New York Attorney General’s Office and SIGTARP in this case stands as a tremendous example of how well the public’s interests can be served through effective State and Federal coordination, and should send a powerful message that we will work tirelessly to hold accountable those who have engaged in misconduct relating to the response to this National crisis.”

Bank of America announced its plan to buy Merrill Lynch on September 15, 2008 and a shareholder vote to approve the transaction was scheduled for December 5, 2008. However, by the day of the shareholder vote, Merrill had incurred disastrous actual losses of more than $16 billion. Bank of America’s top management, including CEO Lewis and CFO Price, knew about these massive losses and that additional losses were forthcoming. Despite the fact that this information would be important to shareholders, the bank’s management chose not to disclose this information so that shareholders would approve the merger.

After shareholders approved the deal, Lewis then misled federal regulators by telling them that the bank could not complete the merger without an extraordinary taxpayer bailout due to accelerated losses from Merrill. However, between the time that the shareholders had approved the deal and the time that Lewis sought a taxpayer bailout, Merrill’s actual losses had only increased by another $1.4 billion. The bank also threatened federal officials that they would terminate the merger agreement based on a material adverse change in Merrill’s financial condition, even though the bank knew that such an attempt would likely be futile.

As a result of their efforts, Bank of America received more than $20 billion in taxpayer aid. The bank’s management cannot explain why they did not disclose Merrill’s massive losses to shareholders even though the merger with Merrill would have threatened the bank’s very existence if there had been no taxpayer bailout.

Furthermore, the lawsuit alleges the following:
Shortly before the shareholder vote, Price ignored a warning from the bank’s Corporate Treasurer, Jeffrey Brown, who told Price that, “I didn’t want to be talking [about Merrill’s losses] through a glass wall over a telephone.”
The bank’s management failed to tell shareholders that it was allowing Merrill to pay $3.57 billion in bonuses. The amount, criteria, and timing of the bonus payments were omitted from the proxy. The bonuses were distributed in a manner that was completely inconsistent with Merrill’s prior practice, and in the worst year in Merrill’s history.
The bank’s management did not tell the bank’s lawyers about the full extent of Merrill’s losses before the shareholder vote. For example, the bank’s former General Counsel, Timothy Mayopoulos, was intentionally mislead about the size and nature of Merrill’s losses. After the shareholder vote, when Mayopoulos learned of the actual losses, he attempted to confront Price but was summarily terminated.
In the course of the Attorney General’s investigation, Lewis and other executives misled investigators about their conduct during and after the shareholder vote.

In the process of acquiring Merrill Lynch, Bank of America’s management intentionally misled its shareholders, its Board of Directors, its lawyers, and United States taxpayers. The lawsuit filed today in New York State Supreme Court seeks monetary relief and injunctions from Bank of America, Lewis, and Price.

The Attorney General thanked Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program Neil Barofsky and his staff for their partnership and hard work throughout the investigation. The Attorney General also thanked the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) and noted that today the SEC is announcing a proposed corporate settlement with Bank of America (See SEC Lit. Release #21407). Cuomo stated, “I support the SEC’s proposed settlement of its pending actions against Bank of America. The corporate governance provisions of that settlement are important reforms for Bank of America and ensure that safeguards against future violation of the law will be implemented immediately and will not have to await the conclusion of the case we are filing today.”

The investigation was conducted by Assistant Attorneys General Vicki Andreadis, Thomas Teige Carroll, Pamela Lynam Mahon, Christopher Mulvihill, and Ethan Zlotchew, under the supervision of Special Deputy Attorney General for Investor Protection David A. Markowitz.
