Since 1992, Democracy in America has taken a back seat to greed, lies, bias and corruption. The mainstream news media has taken on the roll of being the official marketing tool for those who benefit most from mass media’s propaganda and corruption.
This is not to say that television viewers have no credible source for news and information. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (PBS), Link-TV, Matrix News Network and Dan Rather Reports on HD.net are available to most media markets.
We’ve all heard of PBS. Perhaps some of you have donated to PBS in the past. I’d love to give rave reviews on the news programming seen on PBS but, shows like Frontline have been known to edit material to fit a specific agenda. PBS journalist Bill Moyers receives very high marks from this website and editor. PBS would have a much better news organization if Mr. Moyers was the sole editor for all PBS news programs. Could PBS do a better job?  YES!  If PBS became totally objective should they receive greater support and funding?  YES!  What is the biggest error in judgement PBS has made when covering American politics? Supporting the two-party Presidential Debates. They’re an absolute joke and PBS knows it… For more information go to: http://www.pbs.org
Link-TV is a 24 hour cable channel available on Satellite and some Cable TVÂ systems. Throughout the day, Link-TV shows documentaries produced by independent film makers. Amy Goodman’s Democracy Now! can also be seen on Link-TV. For more information go to: http://www.linktv.org
Matrix News Network is a 60 minute uncensored broadcast news program that’s on one night per week, usually Sunday evening and, available on the Internet (video-on-demand) 24-7. Friends from the US, Canada and UKÂ are working to grow this broadcast to five nights per week and have the program seen on a well known Cable/Satellite channel. For more information go to: http://matrixnewsnetwork.com
Dan Rather, former anchor of CBS News has re-emerged onto broadcast television. Dan Rather Reports, a one hour news program is seen on HDNet. Mr. Rather appears to have change his ways since being fired from the mainstream press. This show broke the story, “Dirty Money Down South.” For those who continue to be in denial when it comes to government corruption need to view episode 331 available at http://www.hdnet.com. Free transcripts of all shows are available here or, click the iTunes link to purchase past episodes.
With the exception of HDNet, These broadcast news providers depend greatly on the support they receive from viewers like you! Please, if you’re tired of slanted news and omission of important stories and substance, donate to one, two or all three. A strong democracy needs a news media it can trust and believe in. ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, You’re fired!
